Our ward here in Athens has been truly wonderful to us. We are very grateful to the Bishopric for everything they have done. Pamela has declared that we are never leaving the Athens Ward. This Sunday I provided Spanish translation for Fast and Testimony Meeting and also subbed in the Gospel Doctrine Class. Last week Pamela and I both spoke in church. Pam is enjoying her brand new calling as a Primary Chorister. As for me, I have not been given an official calling yet but I have taught Gospel Doctrine three weeks in a row and I have translated a couple of meetings into Spanish.
I am mostly happy that Pamela is happy. The ward members described themselves as "Geriatric" during the Fast and Testimony meeting. They are very happy to have a young family and they love to see young children.
After church on Sunday we decided to take the boys to Kiwanis Park in Athens again where they have now turned on their splash pad. Xander and Curtis wanted me in there with them so my church shoes and clothing did get a little soaked, but oh well. They had a blast and that's what matters.
Xander reaches for my hand. He took me through much of the recreational splash pad in spite of the fact that I was not dressed for it at all.
Xander plays in the water while Curtis observes it. Curtis and Xander both had a great time.
