Back to Work

Pamela and I both returned to work in August.  The summer had been really good in so many ways but was also rough in a lot of ways.  We were both looking forward to getting back into our routines and bringing home regular paychecks.

Apparently Xander thought that he had the best summer ever.  He normally loves school, but every time we brought up school he would shout, "No!  No school!"

I took several photos to document my progress as I prepared for the new year in the new school in the new state, again...

I helped Pamela out quite a bit with her room.  It was a lot of fun getting everything set up for her.  Then I went to my own room and spent a few weeks getting it ready for my students.  It was a long process but it was worth it.

The boys decided to come and help Pamela.  They love her new classroom and playground.

Pamela started school a week before I did and Xander started going to school a little after I started.  School is really helping Xander to open up and communicate more.  Pamela is having a very good year at Mabank where she is teaching Elementary Music, and I am having a good year as well teaching Spanish I and Spanish II.  Spanish I comes a little easier for me and for some reason the freshmen seem more mature than the sophomores.

I have not really been able to stay for many events.  I mostly come early in the morning and set up for my day, stay a little late to prepare things, grade, and tutor, and then I head home.  It's not that I don't want to watch the football games, its more that if I do not get home at a decent time then I won't get to see my children that day.

The Corsicana School District has been treating me very well and the students have been great for the most part.  I am so glad that Pamela and I have jobs that we really enjoy.  Some days are harder than others, and some days are just rough, but overall this school year has been great to us.

Gecko update, there are many geckos at our house, all of them are called Fred, and they are doing a fantastic job of keeping bugs away.  The weather has also started to cool down a bit which helps with the bugs.  A Gecko did unfortunately meet an untimely demise at the paw of a hungry cat.

La Crosse, WI Part III Wedding Day

Wisconsin has many State Trails where people can go to hike.  This one was near La Crosse.  I decided to spend the morning before the wedding by going on another nature hike.  It was so much fun but took longer than I expected.

A few last second preceremony photos.

After the wedding we went to Grandad Bluff for more photos.  There was a slight drizzle with a cold breeze.  The photographer joked that it was still warmer than the engagement photos, which made all of us ask how cold it was then.  We got no answers, only chuckles.

On to the reception!
