Friday was another early start to the day, though not quite
as early as Thursday was. I was the
first to wake up, then my Mom, and then Curtis.
I felt like Pamela was going to stay asleep for awhile since I set the
kitten on her. The kitten pounced, meowed,
and crawled all over Pamela without any reaction. Mom and I started to get ready to take Curtis
to the park and at the last possible moment Xander awoke.
While we were playing Curtis decided to take off and go
across the street. Normally I would have
run off after him, but I was stuck in playground equipment and my Mom volunteered
to go get him. As soon as Curtis saw
that he was being followed, he decided it was a game and took off running, that
stinker!
We ended up exploring the area where Curtis was heading and
found out where the swings are hidden.
Xander of course was very happy with that since the swings are his
favorite. After a bit on the swings my
Mom suggested that we head back to the van since it was getting very hot. We got into the van and headed to McDonalds
to pick up breakfast for the family.
Curtis is such a cute little man but he was determined to
demonstrate to his Grandma that he is a big handful. I ate breakfast and kept checking on Xander
who was up in the playground singing his favorite song while Mom was struggling
to keep Curtis fed, happy, and away from Xander’s milk. “McDonalds is not my happy place,” my Mother
declared. We shared a good laugh about
it once we were home and Pamela had her breakfast.
Friday is the day of the local play group. Xander and Curtis had played on two different
playgrounds that morning and had eaten a good breakfast. They were content and happy at home. While I still wanted to go for the social
aspect of it, the boys were happy where they were. From what I heard though about the big number
of kids at this week’s play it sounds like it would have been a little
overwhelming for the boys.
Curtis took a nap and my Mom and I went to Lowes to pick up
some screws. Pamela saw a really great
idea for toy storage on facebook and we decided to give it a try. Since we don’t have the space that we had in
Memphis, it has been hard for the boys to have a lot of access to toys. This was the first time in months that they
were able to see and handle this many toys at once. It was like Christmas.
Saturday the boys woke up and reverted to their old morning
routine from Memphis, they immediately started playing! I was up and the weather was great for another
outing to the park, but they were so happy where they were that I decided to
let them be. It turned out to be a very
wise choice.
My Mom came out of her room and spoke to me and I ended up
driving her to the ER. The ER here in
Gun Barrel is small but efficient. They
saw her quickly, checked the situation, gave her the all clear, and allowed her
to go for free with no charge to her or her insurance since it was such a minor
thing. Stuff like this is why I love
Texas. People are just decent to one
another!
I had signed the boys up for Learn and Grow at Lowes. When my Mom and I returned home we had about
a half an hour till it was going to start.
Only hiccup in our plan was that I had forgotten to print and sign the
waiver form! Luckily the public library
opened early and we were able to get the form from there.
I held onto Curtis while Pamela and my Mom helped Xander
assemble his Iron Man project. Xander ended up using the Iron Man project as a night light when he eventually went to sleep, the chest lights up. We ended
up taking Curtis’ Iron Man project home to complete at another time.
Xander was excited to play in the water. After Lowes we blew up the small pool again
and filled it up. The boys had a blast
spilling the water out all over the porch.
