With the humidity and the heat getting worse, and with Monday being such a big day, Tuesday was a bit of a break for the boys. We started the day off with temper tantrums over toys so Daddy fixed the problem with rubber duckies. Cause seriously, what problem cannot be fixed by rubber duckies?
Curtis took a long nap so Xander joined Pamela and I on an errand. We stopped by the local library to check some things out. Xander had a ball and then Mommy started to help him choose a few books to check out.
With Curtis asleep and all the toys to himself Xander decided to work on his tower building skills. Eventually he came up with a structure that used every block.
Playing with blocks can be exhausting! Time to lay down with stuffed animals, a caterpillar that I gave to Pamela for Valentine's Day and dinosaurs should do the trick!
Bolt the Super dog and some Tsum Tsum were also played with once he was done with the dinosaurs, afterall you can only do dinosaurs for so long.
Curtis AWAKENS!
Curtis only rarely builds with blocks so this was nice to see. What was even better was when he started building his own towers without any help or instruction. The little man is growing up.
Playing with blocks can work up an appetite. Curtis went on to do something else that he rarely does but that we have been working on quite a bit, he ate with a spoon instead of his fingers! Yogurt tastes so much better with a smaller mess, okay maybe not but it seems that way to Daddy.
Our rescue efforts continue as Pamela and Jane brought home a newborn kitten. Xander was very fascinated and excited. Curtis was interested until Pamela called it a, "baby." Curtis got an angry look on his face and stomped away. He has shown very little to no interest since.
So far the kitten has no official name. I am calling it Squeakers and Jane has called it Piglet and Gizmo.
Wednesday was another hot and humid day, but a day in which I had to report to work. I went to Corsicana for a training and Pamela went to a parent event in Mabank. We both had good days and I went shopping for her birthday. Picked up some good stuff that I think she will really like.
When I got home the boys and I went into a room and played together without any electronics. It was really nice. What wasn't so nice was when Xander decided to use the ice maker on the refrigerator to flood the kitchen and front entry way of the house.
Curtis took no nap on Wednesday so he crashed early and only just woke up a little while ago. I read stories to Xander and put him to bed. He stayed in his bedroom but had a hard time falling asleep. He eventually snuggled up with Jane and fell asleep.
