We had a nice drive from Alabama. I spent a lot of it looking out the window and admiring the country side as you can see from these photographs.
I got excited when I started seeing signs for Nauvoo. I didn't know that Alabama had a Nauvoo. Nauvoo, Illinois is an important place in LDS history. The word means beautiful.
I started driving a little bit after the Mississippi border. I drove us into Memphis where we had a longer stop than planned. It turned out that we had problems with our tires. After we did a temporary fix on that issue we picked up some of our Christmas decorations and started to head back to Texas hoping that our tires would get us there.
We passed through Arkansas without incident. It felt really good to be back home again and to start getting ready for the Christmas season. Needing to buy new tires before Christmas was annoying but we were home and we were safe. One of the tires did blow but it was a blessing that it was in a parking lot where there were plenty of people to help Jane get it fixed. We are indeed very blessed.
