Shirts my Mom bought for the boys, Darth Gator.
Before my Spring Break began I convinced Pamela that the family should eat outdoors one evening. I had envisioned a Picnic, she felt like a burger. So it was off to Sonic for a fun family night out!
Saturday was busy in the afternoon, I had to go to work in Dallas and Jane needed to be dropped off at the bus station so she could spend a week with her Dad in Alabama.
Most of the days when the boys were at school I ran errands and did chores.
Since I was not able to do Spring Break with the boys I decided to make every day count. My Mom and I took the boys to a toy train museum called Mabank Depot on Monday. It was their second trip, and they loved it. Curtis slept through most of it but Xander had a blast.
On Tuesday my Mom and I took the boys to Purtis Creek State Park. We only stayed for a short time but we did a lot!
On Wednesday we took the boys to the library in Seven Points where I read "Green Eggs and Ham" a few times. It is Xander's new favorite book. We had to ask for a copy since they wouldn't let us checkout the display copy. Xander tried to take it out of the library, turkey! Curtis woke up while I was trying to find a more grown up book for myself and he was NOT happy.
After the library the boys got to play in their own backyard and have some fun.
Thursday was my Mom's final day. We got the boys all ready for school just like we had been doing for the whole week. Here they are waiting for the bus.
After I drove my Mom to the airport I waited around awhile for the rush hour traffic to die down. I drove home and bought the boys a new pool for the summer. Xander was so excited he wanted me to fill it with water in the Living Room! It was still cool outside so I felt like that was a bad idea. Xander ate and then played outside while Curtis slept.

On Friday I took the boys to a park in Mabank when they got home from school. Xander loved it and Curtis did too once he finally woke up. We spent two and a half hours there.
After the park the boys still had plenty of energy, I think it was Daddy who was wore out at the park!
On Saturday we picked up Grandma Jane from the bus station. The boys were very happy to see her again. The whole family went outside to play. It was really nice. Xander, Curtis, and I all matched, we all wore Star Wars shirts.
While I did not have the opportunity to share a break with my boys it made it more special in a way. I had to make the time I had count more. I had a fun time but more importantly so did the boys.
